Regarding the System Extended partitions, haven't those been there since before the Kinect update? It seems to me that the Xbox would need a place to store the Avatar stuff that's currently held in there now, and then on top of that all of the XEX's and other files relating to the dashboard that are held in the second System Extended partition (please excuse formatting on the above, it's late :p). Also, just to note some (probably missing a few, or there's probably some that don't belong...) of the partition names as they show in the kernel: AltFlash, PixDump, SystemExtPartition, SystemURLCachePartition, WindowsPartition, Partition1, SystemPartition, DumpPartition, ReservationPartition, Partition0 ; for "BuiltInMuUSB": ReservationPartition, SystemURLCachePartition, TitleURLCachePartition, SystemExtPartition, StorageSystem, Storage

-Yeah you are right, these Partitions are also there, I didnt have them handy to add to the page. Feel free to correct existing names and add missing Partitions. And yes, you are kinda right about the DEVKIT "partition".. but it really seems that it's an own Partition and the actual "DEVKIT"-folder links to this partition.

Would be great to learn about some of these partitions, seeing as some XDK recoveries try to install data to them (and fail, since the partitions aren't mounted/don't exist). taken from inside 20500.1's recctrl.bin:
"XBOXMUINTSFC..\Device\BuiltInMuSfc..SYSEXTPARTITION...\Device\SystemExtLink...SYSAUXPARTITION...\Device\SystemAuxLink"
I did modify the recovery file and changed some of the files to install to the hard disk instead, but changing all the files that use them partitions is a tedious task (especially when the whole format of the file isn't known yet... by me at least), would be much easier to try and get those partitions mounted first. You might be able to change something in the flash to get those mounted. As for the USB offsets, who was it that made the size for the Cache partition 0x12000400? I was debugging and got 0x4000000 for that, which appears to work. --CLK 21:34, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Has this josh sector always been present? I have not got anything in the josh sector to upload because there is nothing there.--Matt 14:14, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

It's there for me, my drive is an official 20GB harddrive which came with my box, haven't checked my JTAG 500GB though --Stoker25 17:19, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

I also have the official 20GB harddrive. I found the josh sector, I have took a number of images after performing certain actions. I formatted the hard drive using an xbox360; no josh sector, created a profile; no josh sector but when a game was played the josh sector was present when imaged and remained present then onwards. --Matt 13:43, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

The Josh sector for some reason records the last game you were playing and I think a hash of the data. Maybe it's about time to reverse the function that reads it...? :p --CLK 08:35, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Re-organized stuff, moved stuff over from XTAF, XTAF now redirects here, etc. Bitch at me for any issues with this, please. Stoker, if you wouldn't mind could you re-organize that Josh sector stuff? If not I can look in to it tomorrow and do some reversing to figure out all those unknowns, but the main thing bothering me right now is that the offsets are all gay and aren't relative to the beginning of the sector so I don't know where's what. --CLK 07:16, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Being honest the Josh sector stuff I wrote was from what I could work out by looking over it with a hex editor, back then I didn't really know much about true reversing. I could try and reverse it properly now if you want, but you'd probably be better at it than me lol Stoker25 17:26, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
